On Spotify, not all songs are supported with lyrics. You can easily notice this feature when seeing a list of tracks. Without extra apps, you only get the lyrics of the songs containing Lyric label.

Since Spotify hasn’t supported lyrics for all the tracks, you can install some app to view the songs’ lyrics on Spotify.

As far as I know, there are 3 apps used to see the song’s lyrics on Spotify:

  • Musixmatch
  •  Genius.
  • SoundHound.

Spotify used to team up with Musixmatch to provide full lyrics for songs. However, it seems to us that the 2 sides ended their partnership, so Spotify removed the lyrics of many songs. However, you are able to use Musixmatch to view song’s lyrics. All you need to do is install Musixmatch to your device. Then, link the app to your Spotify account. After that, play a song on Spotify and switch it on Musixmatch. You’ll see the lyrics showed up.

Genius and Spotify collaborated together to provide behind the song feature. This function shows you key lyrics of the tracks, some information about the songs like facts, the inspiration of the songs. However, this feature only supports some selected English songs and playlists. So, this app is not attractive to Spotify users.

SoundHound is a music identification service available in Android, iOS, Windows. Similar to Musixmatch, you just need to install SoundHound to your device and link it to Spotify. Then, you are able to see the songs’ lyrics on Spotify.
